Book Review:

The Mouse Charmers by Anuradha Goyal is a enriching educational read for every single mind out there, which dreams of becoming a digital entrepreneur. Her work is a source of inspiration but more than that a motivating starting point for anyone who aspires to tame the mouse (yes, mouse of computers) and become a mouse charmer, some day.

Leave aside all the technical jargons, all the statistics and market trends for the time being. In addition to this, just stop comparing yourself with the already established players in digital market and blaming your destiny for not bestowing you with that extra click or rather read it as a kick. Simply focus on what actually is a digital entrepreneur and what actually is digital entrepreneurship, as you start reading it. Catch hold of basic concepts and the fundamental building blocks of setting up an e-business. For your convenience, she has categorised the book in three sections, namely:

  • Commerce – content – connectors

The basic business models making marks in the industry. Yes, there are a few more but instead of gulping all the ocean with mammoth information, isn’t it better to relish a sip from sea and savour the flavour. Having said this, she has done an excellent work. Her effort in researching information can easily be sensed as you continue reading case by case. Not limiting to this, she not only shares the behind the scene info that is easily understood by a naive reader as well she also highlights the lacunae and loose ends prevailing in present scenario and sensitizes the readers about the scope of development while filling these up. So, in a way, she becomes a job provider (opportunity provider) in disguise.

Her thorough insight coming from her vast experience is a blessing for aspiring entrepreneurs to establish themselves, for established entrepreneurs to flourish and excel. Students and aspirants can read these accounts as case studies while the businesses can read to set their benchmarks and identify milestones. Every single account is worth a read and read between the lines for acquiring more precision.

I am all praise about the book and I am confident that this is going to be one of the best books from Radom House India kitty. Just to share with you readers, it took me more time than expected because there is more than reading this book, it is enriching.
