My review:

60 minutes by Upendra Namburi is a race with the time! Strange as it may sound, the lead characters are racing fast to catch hold of their changing times!! Is this happening for good or something else awaits around the dial? Check out as clock strucks time.

This is the second book from the author. Though, I haven’t myself read his first tryst with the words but the book reviews spread over the internet are really impressive. Nevertheless, the saga continues with his next and here is my take on it.

Corporate world is a crazy jungle out there; we all are well informed with this notion and I am confident that many of us, agree to this as well. Though, there are no rules set formally yet a hierarchy prevails within which every single element hunts down the another, in the race of survival of the fittest. This story is about one such race amongst the rivals. I myself being from same vertical could smoothly relate to the juicy characters and meaty mishaps.

The three contenders – Agastya, Mythili and Shailendra are hunting for their catch and all they have is a mighty lot of just 60 minutes! Agastya, is about to launch his brainchild when he lands up into an emergency, he needs to join the dots and save his career within the next 60 minutes. Then, there is Mythili who has her reasons to knock Agastya down and she has these opportune 60 minutes! And then, there is Shailendra, who also is motivated to challenge Agastya and overpower him within the same magical and eventful 60 minutes! But the real catch is about who are these three and how are they connected with each other and what brings them on table today and at this hour?

An interesting plot, a gripping story, captivating characters and loads of drama unfolding every single minute – what else could you long for from a time-bound corporate thriller. Set on the backdrop of a product launch event evening, Upendra unfolds the life of a carefree but arrogant Agastya. As the clock tickers you keep turning pages to find out why Mythili stands in front and why is Shailendra behind Agastya? The author keeps unveiling the hidden mysteries that lay the foundation of what today is all about.

The chapters are distributed along the time frame of sixty minutes within which the author takes you through the flash backs to the related events. The continuity of the streams is simply unquestionable. You feel like as if you are watching a movie and a simultaneous bufferring is continoysly ‘ON’.

The author has successfully carved out the majestic aura of the corporate niche.  He has put his personal experiences in professional to use such that you can very easily sense that cut throat competitive environment, those deadlines and the nerve-wrecking thrill of those last minute changes. This time it’s not adrenaline rush but it is adrenaline flooding down the lines.

Will the ends meet? The clock is ticking…fast…act faster before you run out of time…

A recommended read for readers who love corporate drama, thriller and last but not the least; the 24 series telecasted on Indian television in recent past. 🙂
