My review:
http://www.marryAghost.com by Abhimanyu Jha, is a work of fiction about a rendevous with the occupants of the other world. Yes, it is about the other world!
Two friends chatting together about making a foray into the webbed world accidently bet for a one-of-a-kind business venture. A website servicing the needs of ghosts; it’s a matching making website to entertain the needs and wants of lonely ghosts! Interestingly, they get their first registrant with Maahi.
Maahi is…actually nobody (including herself too) knows, who is she but she is there but she is not 😦 Actually, she is a soul searching for an Oblivion. Her registration comes as a surprise for both the friends. After initial hiccupps Veeru (the website developer) plans to dig deep.
The story progresses as soon as he receives a call from the number mentioned in her registration form! Who is calling? Is this some prank or he is seriously receiving a call from a ghost? Why do a ghost need a website or a phone at all?
An interesting plot visualized by a techpreneur and a best selling author Abhimanyu. This is a gripping story about coming together of three worlds – a human being (Veeru), online virtual world (an innovative website) and the not so known other world (Maahi). The story keeps you glued to the pages and you get hallucinated to read more and more till the time, you land up at the concluding page.
Initially, (as always) I was afraid of mention of ghosts but then, my fear was gone as if it never existed! It was really hard for me to keep the book aside in the middle of the story. This comes out as an emotional account from two so – called emotionally devoid characters – first, a tech-savvy technical person and second an out-of-the-world soul. The author’s hard work and the dedication can be deduced from the fact that he narrates the story in two voices i.e. Veeru’s and Maahi’s.
The characters are vibrant and carry different shades of emotions. They are loving, caring and focused but aimless. This is a heart-warming story which not only decodes the human verses but of the ghosts as well. Separate headings before switching from one voice to another aided in reading and understanding the incidents from two different angles.
Can someone fall in love with ghosts? Above that, can ghosts fall in love? Do ghosts really need a company, what for?
Discover the answers as you yourself accompany the two during the reading sessions. Will the website be a connecting link between the two? Be warry about what does Maahi expect from the website and for that matter from Veeru? Does she approve or dislike the very idea of running the website, at first place?
Be sure, about not to be entrapped in the tangles of manly sobs, ghostly powers and barbed networking wires.
An enticing read for romance, thriller and horror readers alike! Something that will help you to do away with the endangering feels of having a ghost around and you will feel helpless to fall in love, one more time.
About the book:
Maahi has lost her way. The tired, desperate young soul who remembers nothing except dying next to sea waves and a strange golden-haired man.
Veeru is a young, happy-go-lucky entrepreneur who creates http://www.marryAGhost.com, and gets pulled into an adventure when Maahi registers as the first ‘ghost’.
Asmita Burman is an old, half blind professor who finds Maahi inexplicably, can hear and see ghosts, and knows way too much about them.
And then there’s D’mello; a five-hundered-year-old ghost of a Portuguese nobleman also searching for Maahi, mysteriously appearing and disappearing.
Who will help Maahi get freedom by finding her golden-haired beloved in fourteen days before she gets trapped on earth, may be forever.
Join the age-old battle between good and evil – a race between time, freedom and love that will eventually put the entire world in danger.
