Let us try a new format for review, this time.
S.O.A.R. what strikes first in your mind as soon as you read this acronym? May be some new theory or new hypothesis termed by a crazy mind or might be some abbreviation for a mischievous expansion of a technique! Do take out a second and share your views with me. Well, as far as my take was concerned, I visualized a big eagle soaring high in the sky but my imagination was grounded as soon as I spotted the star lit sky in the background of the cover page. Then, I shifted my gaze to the subtitle which explains it further – Success over Adversity reigns. Nice idea!
This is an innovative trial by the author – Abir Mukherjee. He is a young man securing space in this literary world and so are his actors (I dare to address them as protagonists. Yes, they are in their true self). Often, we term our ideas as our ‘brain child’! But, have you ever thought why do we term them ‘our child’? Well, if not then after reading this story you will acknowledge the fact in its true sense. Well, to cut the long chase short, this story is about chasing and taming an idea. How a squad of friends find a new purpose in their life, how do they shape it and what new heights do they soar to. Let us take a flight this time.
The plot is young as the author is. The development of the story is enthusiastic as you would expect from a young mind. They twists are electric as they should be in reality and the solutions are realistic as they have to be. It is ‘No’ koo-chi-koo moment story; no professional jargon roller coaster and no brain drain fundas exemplified; simply an interesting read. The turn of events is sequential and bears connectivity with the previous scenes. At times, you will feel as if you are not reading any fiction based novel but some old memories are being revived in your mental memory.
The essence of friendship is very well executed in the light of brotherhood. Usually the contents of the stories comprise of emotional scenes between the couples with lesser contents pertaining to the technical aspects of the plot or suspense attended in the story but not in this one. The author has very beautifully sparkled the personal moments in the professional canvas; resulting is a bigger picture, which in turn makes it a worthwhile read.
On a creative front, you will appreciate how the author compares the three friends as brave warriors who against all adversities, soar high to new heights of success. Hey, I missed one crucial point, what do stars (night-time) signify? Well, shake your leg, move your hands and find out yourself!!!
I myself have been a part of many start-ups and worked to implement many internal protocols; thus I could easily find out how they hunt for that one ‘spark’ or say that one ‘idea’ to prove their mettle. The idea was an innovative one indeed, as promised. You will definitely enjoy reading this work.
As far as target market is concerned, in my opinion, the males out there will find it pretty interesting and you might be motivated to find your ‘hunt’.
