My Review

‘A Hundred Lives for You’… have you ever wished such a feeling for anyone who came across you, in your life? Just feel how would it make you feel if you find someone, who the same for you. …Speechless. I am sure; you will be left speechless at least momentarily. Similar will be the feeling, while you read and experience the era re-lived by the author – Abhisar Sharma in his novel – a hundred lives for you.

Lemme just give you a teaser – just dig on to find out who the lucky charm is who gets blessed with such a prayer from the author. Why? This is because, the author shares that this story has a influence from his personal life!

This is my first chance to read and review his work. He is a known name in media industry and I thought that his writing will be having a strong influence of journo style of writing but surprisingly, he has a strong control over his pen. I have watched many of his features on television, and admire his dialog delivery. But, after reading this, please include me in you fans.

If I try to sum up the story then; this is the journey of a boy to become a man. Read this story to witness, the birth of a story. How an idea becomes a story and how it becomes a success when it forms base of some blessed soul! A young kid, who finds it hard to brige gap between him and his father, who finds it easy who finds it easier to pour his heart out in front of his grandfather, who never knew what words are coming out of his pen and how are they are destined to chance his destiny. I simply loved how he weaves a plot around a story that was just a routine class exercise.

He touches upon various aspects of life and facets of relationships including – school life, friendship, exposure, exams, society at large, first love, first separation and journey of transformation to a mature person… who thinks others to be more important than his life himself!

I will not spoil the enigma by sharing more about the story precisely rather I will straightaway jump to my recommendations. Aspiring authors should read this book to learn how to weave a story around an idea. People with years long of experience in their life should read this story to find how to find hope and be a motivating example for others. People housing young minds should read this story to stand tall despite all odds and live by what you have promised. Surprisingly, experts from media industry will relish how a fellow has beautifully crafted an emotional story which touches upon lives of the people across generations.

I will not refrain myself from recommending this book for school libraries because it has that kick that will inspire the budding authors enjoying in the cradle of education and learning to play with the magical words!

About the Book

I wish we had the courage to have a second child.
Abhimanyu Sharma, 13, is on the threshold of a new beginning when his father’s remark scars him and his relationships forever.

Why did you not say it that day?
He is in love but does not fathom the depth of his love till it is too late.

And mark my words, you are the best!
He adores his Daddu, the old man whose faith in him keeps him going.

You saved me, and in time, I shall rescue you back.
And then, there is Simran, the little girl who gives him hope and love. For whom he can give a hundred lives.

Join Abhimanyu as he proves every perception against him wrong – even his own – as he lives through tumultuous relationships, a broken friendship, lost love and merciless carnage in the very heart of Delhi.

A hundred lives for you is a melting point of emotions that moves with the anger and pace of a thriller.
